7 day Introductory Wildlife Photography Workshop in the Kruger National Park
(November 2010)

This introductory workshop covers basic photography concepts, explores different types of cameras and lenses, and provides students with unique tips on better picture-taking in the wild.

The workshop takes place in the southern part of the Kruger Park where wildlife is most abundant, and during November – the start of the wet summer season.

Photography Sessions

  • Game walks - close encounters with various animals allow for optimal close-up opportunities.
  • Game drives – best for searching for photo opportunities. We do not mind waiting for a photo opportunity - it is the only way to get good photographs.
  • Sunset drives - beautiful light conditions bring warm colours and visions of animals returning from their waterholes.
  • Birdhides get you as close as possible to a multitude of birds. Birdhides are generally next to waterholes so you’ll have a perfect chance to get close to mammals and reptiles as well. Here, the animals are rarely aware of your presense and you have a lot more time to get your perfect shot in.
